9. Write a paragraph on ‘Load-Shedding’.
Answer:
Load-Shedding
Load-shedding means the suspension of the supply of electricity for a certain period of time. It is one of the most common and major problems in our country. There are many reasons for load-shedding. The insufficient production of electricity is the main reason for it. Besides, illegal connections, system loss, misuse of electricity, and corruption are also responsible for load-shedding. It causes great suffering to the people. Because of load-shedding, production in mills and factories is hampered. Students are the worst sufferers because they cannot study properly in the dark. Operations in hospitals stop, and patients suffer terribly. The foods kept in the refrigerators get rotten. In fact, our daily life comes to a standstill during load-shedding. The government should take immediate and effective steps to solve this problem. More power plants should be set up, and illegal connections must be disconnected. Above all, we should be conscious of the proper use of electricity so that we can minimize load-shedding.

Answer:
15 January 2022
To
The Principal,
Dhaka Kamil Madrasah, Dhaka.
Subject: Application for providing multimedia facilities in the classroom.
Sir,
With due respect and humble submission, we, the students of Fazil 1st Year of your Madrasah, would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that we do not have multimedia facilities in our classrooms. In the modern era of education, multimedia classes are essential for a better understanding of the topics. Visual presentations, documentaries, and slides help to make lessons interesting and easier to grasp. But due to the lack of a projector and a laptop in our classroom, we are deprived of this modern learning system.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to take necessary steps to provide multimedia facilities in our classrooms as early as possible and oblige thereby.
Yours obediently,
The students of Fazil 1st Year,
Dhaka Kamil Madrasah.
11. Write a dialogue between you and your friend about the dangers of smoking.
Answer:
A dialogue between two friends about the bad effects of smoking:
Myself: Hello, Rakib! How are you?
Rakib: I am fine. What about you?
Myself: I am fine too. But I am very worried about you.
Rakib: Why? What happened?
Myself: I saw you smoking yesterday. You know smoking is very dangerous for health. Why did you start this bad habit?
Rakib: Well, some of my friends smoke, so I just tried it out of curiosity.
Myself: Curiosity is fine, but not for poison! Smoking is nothing but drinking poison. It causes fatal diseases like cancer, heart attack, and bronchitis.
Rakib: I know it is harmful, but I didn’t think it was that serious.
Myself: It is extremely serious. Cigarette smoke contains nicotine, which is a deadly substance. It slowly destroys your lungs and reduces your lifespan.
Rakib: Oh my God! I didn’t realize the danger. It can ruin my life.
Myself: Exactly. Besides, it wastes a lot of money and pollutes the environment. It also harms the people around you who inhale the smoke passively.
Rakib: You have opened my eyes. I promise I will never smoke again from today.
Myself: That’s like a good friend. Your health is your most valuable wealth. Take care of it.
Rakib: Thank you very much for your good advice.
Myself: You are most welcome.
