- Questions should be based on the competencies/skills and knowledge focused in the experiences of the NCTB textbooks as prescribed by the syllabus outlined in this guideline.
- Questions on reading and grammar must be set from the unseen texts which should similar to the relevant texts given in the textbooks in terms of level of difficulty, genre and style.
- Tasks for writing part need to be set considering the type of writing students have done in the classroom. However, no writing tasks/topics should be copied from the textbook while setting questions.
- Question setters need to provide the sample answers and rubrics for marking the essay type/open ended writing tasks.

শিখনকালীন মূল্যায়ন কাজের বিবরণ ও মানবণ্টন [Continuous Assessment: Task type and Marks Distribution]
- Teachers must give prior notifications to students explaining the details of when and how the continuous assessments will be conducted.
- Teachers must select the mentioned items for CA from the given syllabus.
- The concerned teachers also have to keep a record of students' performances in various Continuous Assessment tasks and compile the final grades for the Continuous Assessment part obtained by each student by the end of the year.

PART-A: READING [35 Marks], Reading Part-এ দাখিল ৯ম শ্রেণির পাঠ্যবই হতে নির্ধারিত ৩টি Experience (6, 8, 9)-এর বিষয়বস্তুর আলোকে 1, 2 এবং 3নং প্রশ্ন প্রণীত হবে।
Question-1: ১নং প্রশ্নে একটি Unseen passage হতে নিম্নোক্ত দুটি। প্রশ্ন প্রণীত হবে-
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) [1x5=5]
৫টি নৈর্ব্যক্তিক প্রশ্ন থাকবে। প্রতিটি প্রশ্নের মান হবে ১ (এক)। প্রতিটির ৪টি করে বিকল্প থাকবে। সর্বাধিক উপযুক্ত বিকল্পটি লিখে উত্তর করতে হবে। - Short answer questions [2x5=10]
৫টি সংক্ষিপ্ত প্রশ্ন থাকবে। প্রতিটি প্রশ্নের মান হবে ২ (দুই)। Unseen passage-টি পড়ে শিক্ষার্থী বিষয়বস্তু সঠিকভাবে বুঝতে সক্ষম হয়েছে কি-না তা এ অংশে যাচাই করা হবে। পূর্ণাঙ্গ বাক্যে উত্তর করতে হবে। - Matching [1x5=5]
প্রদত্ত Unseen passage-টি পড়ে Column A-এর ৫টি word-এর সংগে Column B-এর কোন definition-টি মিলে/ সাযুজ্যপূর্ণ (reasonable) তা মিল করতে হবে। উত্তরে শুধু Column A এবং B-এর ক্রমিক নাম্বার লিখলেই চলবে।যেমন: a) → ii; b) → iv; c) → iii; d) → v; e) → i
Question-2: Arguments [5]
প্রশ্নপত্রে নির্দিষ্ট একটি unseen topic/dialogue-এ উপস্থাপিত বিষয়ের সংগে সংগতি রেখে একটি বিশ্লেষণযোগ্য statement দেওয়া থাকবে। এখন, statement-এর সংগে তুমি একমত (agree) পোষণ করছো না দ্বিমত (disagree) পোষণ করছো তা যুক্তি দিয়ে উপস্থাপন করতে হবে। নূন্যতম ৫টি বাক্যে যুক্তি (argument) লিখতে হবে।Question-3: Completing table [2x5=10]
প্রশ্নপত্রে প্রদত্ত একটি unseen text হতে প্রয়োজনীয় তথ্য একটি table-এ লিখে উত্তর করতে হবে। Unseen text-টি হবে তথ্যবহুল, তাই table-এ যে ধরনের তথ্যই চাওয়া হোক না কেন তার জন্যে text-টি ভালোভাবে পড়তে হবে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, Sample Ques.-এ cybercrime নিয়ে text দেওয়া হয়েছে। এখন cybercrime-এর ৫টি কারণ (cause) table-এ দেখানো হয়েছে। পরবর্তী কলামে এসব cause-এর effect (পরিণতি/প্রভাব/ফলাফল) কী এবং সমাধানে কী ধরনের ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে (preventive measures) তা লিখতে হবে। এভাবে, traffic jam, load-shedding, flood, child marriage, juvenile delinquency, drug addiction, human trafficking ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে প্রশ্ন হতে পারে।PART-B: APPRECIATING POETRY [30 Marks], এই পার্ট-এ পাঠ্যবই বহির্ভূত একটি কবিতা (poem) হতে নিম্নোক্ত তিন ধরনের প্রশ্ন প্রণীত হবে।
Question-4: ৪নং প্রশ্নের তিনটি ধরন নিম্নরূপ:
- Short answer questions [2x5=10]
পরীক্ষার প্রশ্নপত্রে পাঠ্যবই বহির্ভূত (unseen) একটি poem হতে ৩টি সংক্ষিপ্ত প্রশ্ন থাকবে। প্রতিটি প্রশ্নের মান হবে ২ (দুই)। প্রশ্নগুলো poetic device (যেমন- metaphor, imagery, theme ইত্যাদি) সংশ্লিষ্ট হবে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, এমন প্রশ্ন হতে পারে যে, '..........এই metaphor দিয়ে কী বুঝানো হয়েছে?; কিংবা, কবিতার মূল theme-টি কী? ইত্যাদি। - Identifying and explaining literary figures [2x5=10]
প্রশ্নপত্রে কবিতায় ব্যবহৃত literary device/figure-গুলো চিহ্নিতকরণ (identify) ও তা ব্যবহার কুরার কারণ (purpose of their uses) ব্যাখ্যা করতে বলা হবে। বিশেষত metaphor, simile, imagery চিহ্নিত করে সেগুলোর ব্যাখ্যা লিখতে হবে। মনে রাখা ভালো যে, metaphor হচ্ছে রূপক যা ব্যক্তি/বস্তুর সংগে এমন কিছুর তুলনা বুঝায় যেগুলোর প্রায় একই ধরনের বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে (e.g. Sabbir was a cheetah in the race today.); simile হচ্ছে উপমা (as, like দ্বারা সংযুক্ত থাকে) যা দ্বারা সরাসরি তুলনা বুঝায় (e.g. Sabbir ran tike a cheetah in the race today.), আর imagery হচ্ছে চিত্রকল্প যা বর্ণিত বিষয়ে একটি স্পষ্ট ধারণা মানসপটে তুলে ধরে। - Writing expressions [10]
প্রশ্নপত্রে কবিতাটির theme/idea ব্যাখ্যা করতে হবে। সেক্ষেত্রে কবিতাটি মনোযোগ দিয়ে পড়তে হবে এবং বিষয়বস্তু সম্পর্কে একটি একটি বর্ণনা প্রদান করতে হবে।
PART-C: WRITING [35 Marks], Writing part-এ সর্বমোট ৩টি প্রশ্ন (৫, ৬ এবং ৭নং) থাকবে। প্রতিটি প্রশ্নেরই বিকল্প প্রশ্ন থাকতে পারে। সেক্ষেত্রে যেকোনো ১টির উত্তর করতে হবে।
Question-5: Writing paragraph [10]
প্রশ্নপত্রে প্রদত্ত topic-এর আলোকে একটি paragraph লিখতে হবে। Topic-এর ধারণাটি প্রস্ফুটিত করতে প্রথমে paragraph-এর title লিখতে হবে। এরপর introductory sentence লিখতে হবে। এটি paragraph-এর প্রথম বাক্য যা paragraph-এর বিষয়বস্তুকে প্রারম্ভিক পরিচতি প্রদান করে।পরবর্তীতে Body বা Description অংশে introductory sentence-কে কেন্দ্র করে একক অনুচ্ছেদে (in one para) অন্যান্য বাক্য লিখতে হবে। বাক্যগুলোকে পরস্পর সংযুক্ত রাখতে cohesive device (As well as, Furthermore, Firstly/Secondly....., Next/After, On the other hand, As a result, Because of, In conclusion ইত্যাদি) ব্যবহার করতে হবে। অস্পষ্ট কিংবা সাদামাটা বক্তব্য না লিখে সুনির্দিষ্ট বা প্রমাণসাপেক্ষে বাক্য দ্বারা paragraph-এর বিষয়বস্তু বর্ণনা করতে হয়।
পরিশেষে, সমাপ্তি বাক্য/concluding sentence যা paragraph-এ বর্ণিত বিষয়ের একটি সামগ্রিক মূল্যায়ন হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠা পায় তা লিখে paragraph-টি সমাপ্ত করতে হবে।
Question-6: Writing compare contrast essay [15]
প্রশ্নপত্রে দুটো ভিন্ন বিষয়ে সাদৃশ্য এবং বৈসাদৃশ্য (compare and contrast) তুলে ধরে এমন একটি বিষয়ে essay লিখতে বলা হবে। সেক্ষেত্রে Venn diagram আকারে তথ্য দেওয়া থাকতে পারে। (Sample Question দ্রষ্টব্য।)এটি যেহেতু paragraph নয় তাই এটি বেশ ক'টি para-য় উপস্থাপন করা যাবে। প্রথমে পাঠকের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণের জন্য প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত দুটো বিষয়ের ওপর মিল রেখে একটি আকর্ষণীয় সূচনা বাক্য (introductory sentence/thesis statement) লিখতে হবে। এরপর নূন্যতম ৩টি paragraph-এ body অংশ বা description লিখতে হবে। সেক্ষেত্রে, body-তে দুটো বিষয় সম্পর্কিত কারও উদ্ধৃতি (quotes), প্রকৃত ঘটনা (facts) ও এ সম্পর্কিত উদাহরণ (examples) দিতে হবে। লক্ষ রাখতে হবে যাতে বাক্যগুলো পরস্পর সম্পৃক্ত ও তথ্যে সমৃদ্ধ হয়। বাক্যগুলোকে পরস্পর সংযুক্ত রাখতে cohesive device (As well as, Furthermore, Firstly/Secondly...... Next/After, On the other hand, As a result, Because of, In conclusion ইত্যাদি) ব্যবহার করতে হবে। পরিশেষে, body অংশের আলোচনার প্রেক্ষিতে সংক্ষেপে বিষয়ের ওপর আলোকপাত করে পরিসমাপ্তি (conclusion) টানতে হবে।
Question-7: Writing explanatory text [10]
প্রশ্নপত্রে কোনোকিছুর বর্ণনামূলক একটি পাঠ (explanatory text) দেওয়া থাকবে। এ ধরনের text-এর সাধারণ বৈশিষ্ট্য হলো তা Simple present tense-এ উপস্থাপিত হয় এবং মূল বক্তব্য হতে বিষয়ের বিচ্যুতি ঘটে না। এক্ষেত্রে একটি ধাঁচে কেন (why) এবং কীভাবে (how) বিষয়টি ঘটে তার নির্দিষ্ট পদ্ধতি (process) বর্ণিত হয়। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, নমুনা প্রশ্নে পোকা-মাকড়ের শ্বাস-প্রশ্বাস নেওয়ার যে কৌশল (process) তা বর্ণিত হয়েছে। এতে অন্য কোনো বিষয়ের অন্তর্ভুক্তি যেমন নেই তেমনি স্বাভাবিক বর্ণনা ধারার বাইরের কিছু নেই।প্রশ্নপত্রে একটি table-এ প্রদত্ত explanatory text-এর্ ৫টি element লিখে text হতে তার উদাহরণ দিতে হবে। Explanatory text-এর সাধারণ element গুলো হতে পারে- General statement; Temporal connectives; Topic sentence in first para; Use of present simple tense in description; Relevant examples ইত্যাদি। এ বিষয়গুলো প্রদত্ত text-হতে চিহ্নিত করে column-A তে লিখে column-B তে example-গুলো লিখতে হবে।
